How are you going to prepare for days of eating? Like 40 of them! Thanksgiving and Christmas. Lots of focus on eating. It is a tough time of the year, but you can avoid that feeling of hopelessness and throwing in the towel.
Thanksgiving is normally the onset of a landslide of eating for many. You may do the annual compromise with yourself “I want to enjoy the Holidays….I will start over Jan 1st”. Think about that. Do you really enjoy how you feel? Maybe at the moment of consumption, but how do you feel when you wake up the next day? Or even just an hour after a big piece of pie or a half dozen cookies or three glasses of wine (sugar bomb!)?
Might I suggest the following weekly workout regime (3-5X a week)? See below.
BUT….. First of all, you need to know that your worst offender is SUGAR. This will cut your defenses down to almost zero. Its like going into a battle with absolutely no ammunition. If you can skip the desserts you are going to be more equipped to remain disciplined and have a good chance of getting through the next 40 days feeling GOOD and not sluggish and with weight gain.
While exercise is KEY, what you eat or don’t eat is going to be the biggest factor in how you feel the next 40 days. And bad eating almost always leads to less or NO exercise at all. No energy to get motivated.
So who is in? I am in your court cheering you on. I am also praying for you right now as I write this blog. I truly do pray for my customers and that each one of you would be successful with your 3X3FIT workout regime. That it would meet or exceed your expectations. I am 55 as many of you know. Staying fit with my weight controlled has NOT come naturally or easy. I have to work at it (& a hypo-thyroid to boot. I do not take medication but handle it through a controlled diet (No gluten, sugar, dairy). I have had to be disciplined my entire adult life. BUT! I love exercising. And you can too! Once you develop the HABIT of daily exercise, your body will crave it. Also…..do I sometimes want that piece of cake or cookie? YES! All the time. But, I know how I will feel if I eat it. And, that two minutes of pleasure is not worth the hours or days of feeling sluggish or even depressed. So I say NO! I have people tell me me I am lucky because I have stayed in shape. I tell them it is not luck at all!! I work at it every day.
The older we get, the more disciplined we must become. But, soooooooooo worth it! You can be that 85 yr old playing tennis, walking miles, staying active with your grandchildren or 82 and fending off burglars! or the 85 yr old chair bound. But that decision has to be made sooner than later. #toughlove
